A compact, powerful, highly versatile portable boring bar for blind
boring and line boring in a wide variety of applications. The machine
consists of rotational drive unit with hydraulic, electric or pneumatic
options, mechanical feed unit, boring bar, tool head set, mounting
accessories, and hydraulic power unit on appropriate models. Feed and
rotational direction are reversible. Various lengths of feedscrews,
boring bars, and tool heads can be combined for a wide variety of
applications. Many accessories are available for automatic bore
welding, facing, trepanning, etc. |

Bore
diameters from 150 mm to 915 mm (6" to 36"). Boring travel is via an
in-bar leadscrew so boring stroke is determined by length of the bar.
Bar diameter is 90 mm (3.5"). A compact hydraulic rotational drive unit
provides plenty of torque for all boring operations. The BB6000
includes a convenient mounting system, an axial feed unit, a tool head
set and a hydraulic power unit. These machines have been used to bore
the throats of large swing check valves and die pockets in tire molds,
in addition to hundreds of standard line boring operations. |

Machine
raised face and flat pipe flanges from 38 mm to 305 mm (1.5" to 12")
diameter. An optional beveling head bevels pipe from 38 mm to 160 mm
(1.5" to 6.25") OD. "Quick-Lock" feature allows rapid change from
beveling to facing. Low profile, compact machine weighs only 15.9 kg
(35 lbs) and sets up in less than 10 minutes using self-aligning
mandrel-type hand tightened chuck. Bi-directional, infinitely variable
feed system achieves surface finish of 125-500RMS. The .59 kW (.8 hp)
pneumatic motor includes oiler and flow control. Two facing bits and
carrying cas are included. |

Refaces
130 mm to 610 mm (5" to 24") diameters. Lightweight four jaw mounting
chucks can be mounted and aligned in less than 15 minutes in flange
bores from 130 mm to 460 mm (5" to 18") in diameter. A single draw bolt
attaches machine to the base. The low profile machine extends only 190
mm (7.5") above the flange. Automatic radial or downfeed is adjustable
and reversible using a single selector located safely atop the
stationary body. |

355 mm to 1070 mm (14" to 42") diameters, or up to 1525 mm (60") with
optional extension kit. Also cuts weld preps, chamfers, etc., using a
swivel tool head that rotates up to 45 deg. in either direction.
Smooth, accurate operation is ensured by the heavy turning bar,
counterbalance system, and heavy duty spindle bearings. Individually
adjustable 8-jaw mounting chuck allows quick setup and rigid alignment.
Pneumatic 1.09 Kw (1.45 hp) motor and gear reduction provides 798 N-m
(550 ft-lb) at rated hp. |
