Drill presses are machine tools used to make holes in materials such as metal. The object to be drilled is placed on a table, and the main drill, reamer, and the like is rotated to make holes. In addition to drilling holes, bulging, reaming, and countersinking can be done as well. After a pilot hole smaller than the target is drilled, the hole is widened with a drill of the target size, and then finishing, tapping, and the like is done, so multiple drills are needed to make a single hole. Drill presses have speed controllers with which rotational speed can be selected according to the material and depth scales.
